World’s biggest battery project to date to be implemented in Australia
Renewable energy fund CEP.Energy announced its plan to install a 1200MW battery in New South Wales, Australia, the largest grid-scale battery project ever intended worldwide.
It is difficult to stay on top of the list of the world’s largest battery installations! We have been reporting a number of times on large-scale batteries for grid applications, and only recently highlighting the fast-growing pace of such projects. The new top position should now be held by CEP.Energy who plans to install a 1200 MW battery for Australia’s national electricity grid. Even though this large-scale battery is still to be built, the huge investment that is currently discussed for this project (2.4 bn$) shows strong faith in the business case for the future.
