Battery (Cell-) Production in Europe

As Europe looks towards creating a  greener future through electrification of transport, manufacturing batteries in Europe is key. Mechanical and plant engineering will therefore be an important enabler of the battery industry. VDMA and InnoEnergy bring together politics and mechanical engineering representatives to discuss  the battery cell production in Europe. The following topics wil be discussed:

• Presentation of the European Battery Alliance and R&D platform for batteries “Batteries Europe” (InnoEnergy)
• “The Transformation of the Automotive Industry – Technological and Industrial Policy Challenges”, Mr. Matthias Machnig, former State Secretary of the German Ministry of Economy and Energy and current Head of Industrial Strategy at InnoEnergy
• Presentation of the National Platform Future of Mobility (NPM), Dr. Rolf Bulander, former Head of Mobility Solutions at Bosch  (inquired)
• Battery cell production from the point of view of mechanical and plant engineering, Mr. Michael Bartl, member of the Schunk management
• Battery cell production in Europe from the perspective of a cell manufacturer, Mr. Sven Bauer, CEO TerraE / BMZ
• Discussion tables with stakeholders from industry, politics and science.
