EUSEW | Going green and digital for Europe’s energy transition
Welcome to the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) that brings together public authorities, private companies, projects, NGOs and consumers to promote initiatives to save energy and move towards renewables for clean, secure and efficient energies. The 2022 edition of EUSEW will focus on the topic Going green and digital for Europe’s energy transition and will take place in a hybrid format: both participants and speakers will be able to participate online or onsite in Brussels.
As part of the EUSEW programme, EBA250 is hosting a session dedicated to Making the European battery value chain future-proof by investing in people, skills and innovation together with Batteries Europe, BEPA and other battery initiatives.
The objective of this session is to provide insight into how the European battery ecosystem is working to support and overcome the great challenge of transforming the transport and energy sectors. This includes addressing the following key points: developing the education and skills needed to make this transition; investing in the technologies of the future to help them bridge the valley of death, and digitalisation to bring more flexibility to battery use.
Education and innovation are two of the drivers that need to be addressed to set the pillars of an independent European battery value chain to tackle climate change and reindustrialize the economy.
The session will begin with high-level presentations to set the scene, and is followed by a panel discussion with experts representing the different initiatives in the European battery ecosystem working towards this goal, bringing a well-balanced perspective of the European battery industry.
