Nordic Battery Thursdays 2024 – webseries #2
Financing the Battery Revolution
21 March 2024, 10:00-11:00 CET
Join us for the next Nordic Battery Thursday webinar where our expert guests discuss the need for investments to secure the ramping up of a domestic and resilient battery value chain in Europe.
Since the launch of the European Battery Alliance in 2017, the European battery industry has developed substancially, with many new initiatives arising across the entire battery value chain.
This achievement owes much to the combined support of both public and private financial incentives and support mechanisms. However, the question remains: will these suffice to maintain Europe’s appeal for investments across the battery value chain, particularly in light of recent geopolitical challenges?
US IRA and a similar approach in Canada are still attracting both EU and non-EU battery manufacturing investments, with simple, “fit for purpose” ITC and PTC schemes. Meanwhile, China continues to invest massively in battery and EV manufacturing capacity.
In this webinar we will explore various financing solutions from a Nordic perspective as well as discuss the need for additional investments to secure the ramping up of a domestic and resilient battery value chain in Europe.
The event will be broadcasted on Thursday 21st March at 10:00 CET and will be accessible by clicking on the above button or via this link. Participation is free of charge and open to all. No pre-registration is required. Recording will be available for replay the Nordic Battery Thursday event website.
